Welcome to my blog!

Hi, my name is Stacey Oberst Peterson, and I am a Registered Dietitian. Usually, when I tell people that I am a dietitian, the first thing they think is that I help people lose weight. While I can do this, this is not my passion. I am most interested in the connection between a person's nutrition status/intake and brain function. Specifically, I study the importance of nutrition to such disorders as depression, ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), and autism. To keep abreast of the most current research and information, I attend 'Defeat Autism Now!' conferences headed by the Autism Research Institute. Not only is the information presented at these events interesting, but it is based on sound science performed by the most highly qualified researchers in the field.
As a 'Defeat Autism Now!' practitioner, I employ nutrition protocol that includes the use of dietary supplements (e.g. vitamins, minerals, etc.) and special diets (GFCF, SCD, Feingold, etc.)to address nutrient deficiencies and/or food sensitivities, and to support the body’s ability to detoxify.
I personally follow a gluten-free diet, and therefore understand the challenges, and also the tricks to surviving this lifestyle in our gluten-laden society.
I want to take this opportunity to welcome you to my blog - I will be using this space to post interesting nutrition information and other applicable tidbits. I hope you enjoy. Should you want more information about me, please visit my website at: http://www.nutritionnaturally.org/.
Thank you!
